Meeting Notes

    An election meeting of the North Dallas Bar Association was held on June 10, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. at Blackfinn Restaurant.  The meeting was called to order by Brian Arnold, who determined that a quorum was present. 
  
Congratulations to the new officers and directors of the North Dallas Bar Association for the 2008/2009 year. The following nominees were elected:

Ilene Smoger was presented an award as recognition for all of her time and efforts she personally put into our web page.  For those of you who do not know it, Ilene researched, designed and has managed our web page "pro bono".  The award is simply a small token of our appreciation for her hard work and gracious efforts.  Members who are listed on the web page have reported that they are receiving inquiries and clients, and are impressed with the quality of clients drawn to the web page.  Therefore, it has been a great success.

We are starting our membership drive for the up coming year already and we encourage you to renew your membership early so that we can determine our budget.  Please pass the word about the North Dallas Bar Association to your friends and colleagues and bring them in as new members.  The more new members we have the greater base you have to network with.  The NDBA is a great way to obtain case referrals through our referral service, web page and members via networking.  We also offer a variety of activities, including economical CLE programs.

We look forward to another great year and thank the above people for all of their time and efforts in keeping the North Dallas Bar Association going for the benefit of all of the members.  I know that Andrew will carry the torch well as our new President.

I enjoyed serving as your President and encourage all of you to be more involved and take advantage of the benefits of our bar association.

Brian Arnold is our new President and Andrew Jones will be President Elect.

The secretary and treasurer will be two separate positions this year.  The secretary will handle membership.  Sharon Campbell has been elected to this position.

The treasurer will be Carol Hamilton.

Ilene J. Smoger will be our webmistress.

Paul Tipton and David Wright will be Directors.

Review of the budget were also discussed.  We will visit with Southwestern Bell and Personalized Communication this summer.
